We decided to go on a healthy food adventure..

So Xia Mei and I decided to go on a healthy food experiment. I think I gotta give her 90% of the credit because suggested most of the foods and she's the one who's really good with the recipes hehe. I'm just the boring replicator for most parts ;)

Of course, being the aesthetically-driven people we both are, we just had to take some aesthetically please flat-lay pictures.

Without further ado, here's a picture spam of the healthy food options we made so far, placed in the most aesthetically pleasing manner we can think of at the moment for pictures. The list is not exhaustive. The food we made taste good by the way. I initially put the disclaimer that it's non-guy friendly because her husband doesn't think it's tasty HAHA but it's nice okay :P

Bibimbap made by me!
Baked oats with cheese overlay - best recipe ever thanks to Xia Mei - I swear I can eat this everyday and have been as you will see in the subsequent squared pictures
brown rice with pork chop and stir fried vegetables <3
kiwi with skin because there's more dietary fibre - yes it is a thing
the purple colour in the overnight oats came from the dragon fruit my mom bought
guac chicken wrap - I'm really bad at telling when avocados get ripped - but I'm trying!!
no sugar banana bread by Xia Mei - added some honey on the side :)

A Week in Lund: Day 2 A Series of Homemade

/ Banana Muffins <3

I haven't kept to my commitment of keeping up with my series of Homemade every week ever since I started travelling and I deeply apologise to that! Yet in fact I've been whipping up quite a bit whilst staying in Lund, always cooking more than we should before our perishable commodities goes to waste.

Anyway here's a full series of food I've whipped up along with my friends for the past 4 months in which I've faithfully taken upon every lunch/dinner. It's a lot.. so be at least a little impress with Abigail, please? (click read more!)

Homemade 3

HOMEMADE 3 - SIMPLE&QUICK

This week had been super hectic with assignments and a trip to Lithuania. I'm currently pretty exhausted, phew! All I managed to do today was to whip up a quick meal, clean my room, do some laundry and catch up with my neighbours. My room's getting pretty untidy and I'm hoping to sort out and organise my essentials tomorrow. Jia you abi! I have yet to reflect and review so many things I've been learning along the way and also my studies! I can't wait to post entries about 'em, there are so many things worth feeling blessed for.

Homemade 2

If there was any conclusion to sum up this week's homemade dishes, it was that asian, or more specifically, Chinese food, are much harder to cook than western ones - at least from those I've attempted this week. I still have quite a bit of ingredients left in the kitchen and I'm feeling quite guilty if I purchased more, but I can't resist trying out other dishes!

I manage to attempt many new dishes and cook on my own more, in which I feel that I'm gaining more confidence in myself!

There were a few failures I had this week, but fortunately, nothing that wasn't edible but could have been better. Also there were little tiny achievements this week for me like making an omelette heh! Cooking rice in a pot was a struggle for me I couldn't get it right, but I'm hopeful I will - it's hard to measure precisely how much water to put without a proper cup or a rice cooker. I'm hoping to attempt to some Japanese recipes I got from my hostel mates next week, quite excited and partially weary haha.

Homemade

<<MY FIRST SOLO LUNCH ATTEMPT>>

I haven't been updating as much as I would have expected myself to. I thought I would be posting lots of pictures and travel material but really, I feel so in tact finding the extraordinary in the ordinary.

Sweden has allowed me to challenged myself quite a bit in terms of household responsibility. I don't think chore is a viable word because it emits a pretty negative light to house work. I've been having quite a bit of fun doing them and I hope it doesn't become a chore in the long run.

Cooking has been one of my favourites this week. I didn't exactly cook a lot and most of them are cooked by my friends here. I did mostly cutting and my attempts of cooking have been wounding up food partly being chiseled black, but I'm gonna be better! The prime time for me to "spread my wings" would be lunch time.

One highlights of cooking is that I absolutely love learning some recipes from my Japanese counterparts living here, their dishes are amazing!
