Food: Unintended Food Expedition in August

With the rate that I am heading out to eat and catch-up with friends, I should really consider starting a food reviews series (again!) :P I'll probably these down into individual post later on but for now, here's a photos spam. Note don't be alarmed about the rate I'm eating I obviously don't eat everything. Perhaps I should also share about how to go about eat moderately while still enjoying food. The Landing Point High Tea

My heart is full this long National Day weekend!

I spent most of the weekend catching up with friends and my mom. I'll probably do a summation of what I did in a separate post - for memory's sake - but for now here's one on my first evER high tea experience.

A little back story: the few of us were casually hanging out and due to circuit breaker, we haven't been out proper for the longest time. Thus, we decided we should spend time together doing something nice and be extra about it - basically to have a reason to dress up HAHA. It's really nice to see all of us being so sporting about it HAHA. I haven't done anything "atas" for a really REALLY long time (partly because I don't have a reason to and I'm not the kind of person who really does this) BUT it is really really nice to have this every once in a long while :)

PLUS I could finally have a reason to take my DSLR out for a spin. As much as I like having my pictures taken, I really love taking pictures for others when they look good and seeing people feeling good about having their pictures nicely taken x) it makes me happy...!

High tea was really nice, the view and lighting was great (tbh I didn't edit my pictures much at all - it's weird because I feel like my skin looked as if it were photoshopped lol) food was alright - I've been eating way too healthy these days so everything tasted super flavourful. The scones were amazing! I would do this again but for now it's the pauper life :P I don't want this - high tea - to lose its novelty either.

Wow, I haven't done a blog entry with a massive picture spam for so long muahaha. Alright, 'buff text -here goes:
if you're wondering why there's an outfit change it's because I was everyone's photographer for the day - I needed agility :P

We decided to go on a healthy food adventure..

So Xia Mei and I decided to go on a healthy food experiment. I think I gotta give her 90% of the credit because suggested most of the foods and she's the one who's really good with the recipes hehe. I'm just the boring replicator for most parts ;)

Of course, being the aesthetically-driven people we both are, we just had to take some aesthetically please flat-lay pictures.

Without further ado, here's a picture spam of the healthy food options we made so far, placed in the most aesthetically pleasing manner we can think of at the moment for pictures. The list is not exhaustive. The food we made taste good by the way. I initially put the disclaimer that it's non-guy friendly because her husband doesn't think it's tasty HAHA but it's nice okay :P

Bibimbap made by me!
Baked oats with cheese overlay - best recipe ever thanks to Xia Mei - I swear I can eat this everyday and have been as you will see in the subsequent squared pictures
brown rice with pork chop and stir fried vegetables <3
kiwi with skin because there's more dietary fibre - yes it is a thing
the purple colour in the overnight oats came from the dragon fruit my mom bought
guac chicken wrap - I'm really bad at telling when avocados get ripped - but I'm trying!!
no sugar banana bread by Xia Mei - added some honey on the side :)

Hoshino Coffee Review

Located at the heart of Plaza Singapura at Dhoby Ghaut, Hoshino Coffee is famous for their soufflé pancakes which includes a seasonal flavour that changes every now and then. Jiong Le and I decided to order the same soufflé pancakes but with different flavours. He ordered the Hokkaido version which was the flavour of the season that week while I order the most Japanese and conventional version, Matcha. The instagrammable factor did not disappoint and the portions served look exactly like the pictures on the menu. Slightly on the pricier side, it's portion makes up for the price as well.

I would highly recommend sharing a dessert as a substitute for a full meal between two persons. Personally I wasn't able to finish half of their fluffy pancakes before feeling really full and it felt a little bit "jelak" after awhile. There are many other food options at the restaurant thus, I'll probably give this a pass and try other food choices if I were to visit Hoshino Coffee again.

Price: $40.00 for everything (includes GST and service charge)

Baan by Rochor Thai Thai Style Wonton Noodle Review

If you are looking for an unconventional taste from your typical hawker style Wan Ton Noodles and experiencing a day that you just want to #treatyoself, definitely give Thai Style Wonton Noodle a shot. Loaded with a hefty serving of sliced pork pieces while being paired with everyone's favourite deep fried wanton but extra large size, this bowl of noodles is not friendly to the amount of calories you're taking in but would fill a very hungry stomach. Furthermore, the ambience of the place the store is located at is super chill, not too crowded and serves as an amazing place to just hang out with a date or with friends.
