While I'm not a sucker for mainstream cliches on the internet, I'll admit having a memo board using a wire mesh has been really useful. This best part was that it was pretty cheap and super easy to set up. Here's how I did it. But before I dive into the deets, here's a few reason why I found having a wire mesh memo board useful:
Why having a mesh/memo board is good:
- It removes loose paper that typically creates a mess on your desk
- It still allows you to easily see pending items that requires your attention (my memo board doesn't have any of these items for now)
- It allows you to create texture on a plain wall to make it a little bit more aesthetically pleasing - I'm a sucker for aesthetically pleasing things
- Some wooden pegs ($1.00)
- A metal/wire garden mesh (I got mine from daisy for $2.00)
- Hooks ($1.20)
- Ensure you find an ideal place on your wall to put the memo board. Consider a few things: it should be placed at a convenient place, it should be mounted at a place that you refer to often - in my case, it's my desk.
- Place the hook to level and across the mesh
- Place some wooden pegs around the mesh and start placing loose papers that were previously sitting around onto the mesh.
Easy peasy and cheap, takes about less than 5 minutes to get everything set up and makes your entire life easier.
